My question is prompted by the answer

A/<<Only if you are building a Collins Class Submarine. Most managers who insist upon that are saying that they do not want to have to consider answering questions which are nothing more than reactions to what some Nutcase said. If I worked with a Safety-critical Software development team, and I went to somebody in Corporate Management (or a Military liaison) and said something like, "HR recommended a real fruitcake to manage this team," then that fruitcake would have to answer for my lack of professionalism to a bunch of Jarheads who think that "disciplinary Action" involves the breaking of facial bones. He/She has enough to be terrified about knowing that within his/her ranks is a psychotic powerpath and a loose cannon who will say anything off-color, along with the fact that he/she has to lie about the scheduled delivery of the Legacy systems which were delayed and so on, and so on.

There was enough going on to make a manager want an IV drip of Valium, and expecting to answer to military types about question involving off-color language shouldn't be on that list.>>

which was in response to the question

Q/<<Is "being totally professional at all times" code for "we have to cover up that the system doesn't work" ?>>
To Stacy
Thanks.
